Movie Stakeholders Awarded at Kumawood Movie &Akoben Awards


The first ever indigenous movie awards took place at the Miklin Hotel in Kumasi on Friday November 2nd to celebrate creativity and art work in the movie industry. The event organised by Kumawood Entertainment And Concept Developers kick started at 10pm despite the initial time of 7pm and patronisers were entertained with acoustic music and highlife by a brass band. Dignataries at the event were welcomed by the MC for the night, Kwame Adinkrah followed by Christian and Moslem prayers followed and a colourful display and exhibition of traditonal dance by Afia and her dance ensemble.



Dignataries present included Hon. S.K Boafo, former Ashanti Regional Minister, Representatives from The Ashanti King, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and a lot more. The event also witnessed the presence of the major stakeholders in the movie industry from sound personalities to actors and actresses such as Agya Koo, Koo Fori, Bernard Adusi Poku (Koo Musuo), Mr. James Aboagye, Auntie B of Efiewura, Funny Face, Akua, winner of TV3's Ghana's Most Beautiful and a lot more.


The programme also saw wonderful performances from  Kwaku Gyasi with his colourful outfit and nice shoe, Kwabena Kwabena, Dr Cryme and Pat Thomas who made all the ladies sing along with all their hit songs.
