In the era where stars and celebrities find it inconvenient and difficult to talk about whether or not they are involved in the use of drugs, Okomfour Kwadee known in private life as Jerry Anaba, otherwise known as Kwame Awudi has confirmed that he smokes cannabis (wee).
Following a report published in this week’s edition ofthe Flex newspaper captioned; “Okomfo Kwadee – has he gone ‘mad’ again”, the presenter of 205 Total Entertainment, AduBoahene decided to call and interview him to ascertain the authenticity or otherwise of the story.
During the interview although Kwadee was not straight as to whether he was mad or not, he said he visited the Psychiatric Hospital for treatment. “People go to the Psychiatric hospital not because they are mad or something but goes there for many other ailments. So my going there does not mean I was mad. Besides if you want to know anything about somebody, ask people who are closer to the person and don’t sit and make your own speculations. Kwadee reiterated.
He continued in the interview that, he was happy people are saying so many things about him because he believes that will help get him to the top. “I am happy if people are thinking and talking about me. That is what will make me popular and I like it. I pursue my career without thinking evil about anybody so I get amazed when people make speculations about me especially about my health.
When the presenter asked whether he smokes, this is what the lyrical poet said: “I am a famer and a herbalist; I smoke many things including leaves and herbs.” Funny enough, the Presenter was not satisfied with the answer and therefore persuaded Kwadee with lots more question on the type of farming he does and the particular leaves and herbs he smokes.
“Yes I smoke herbs; I smoke cannabis and I have been smoking since I was young. That is why I asked you to investigate the background of people before you judge them.” Kwadee revealed.
Surprisingly, Kwadee answered all the questions from the presenter to the understanding of everybody listening without any trace of madness in his speech. So the question most of the panelists at the studio asked was, why he spoke in so much parables and proverbs when he came back from the first hibernation?
Kwadee is one of the few Ghanaian Hip Life musicians who since their inception into the music industry, chalked success with every single album they churned out. It would be recalled that, Kwadee went into hibernation for about three and many reports circulated the media about his where about and some said he was admitted at the Pantang Psychiatric Hospital because he was mad.
Kwadee came back from the hibernation to release another hit album “me nie” and even staged a concert at the National theater to launch the album which became a talk of the town concert about three ago.
