Amakye Dede appointed “ambassador for hunger”

Ace Ghanaian hi-life musician Amakye Dede has been speaking to Hitz Entertainment News about his new appointment as an Ambassador and hunger advocate.

The “Dabi Dabi ebe ye yie” singer got the honour from the Alliance against Hunger and Malnutrition (AAHM) of the United Nations in Ghana for his efforts towards achieving a hunger-free society in most of his songs.

Amakye Dede says his experience in farming and encouraging young people to take to agricultural opportunities also helped him to grab the post.

Speaking exclusively to Hitz Entertainment News, Amakye Dede he was emotional when he received the news of the appointment and shed “tears of joy” because he never thought or expected something like this to come his way.

He also said, as much possible, he does his best to help the poor and the needy but was not expecting anything in return or to be appointed to help such disadvantaged in the society.

Amakye Dede noted that, being appointed as Ambassador and hunger advocate, he will use the opportunity to reach to the general public to come together to fight against hunger; and this would cover the young, the old or anyone so they can always get something to eat.
