Winning the
prestigious award of Miss World Beauty with a Purpose, Miss Ghana 2010,
Stephanie Karikari is set to be launching her award winning project on May 22,
2012 at the Banquet Hall, State House.
Unveiling her project undertaken to refurbish a
dilapidated day care center at ‘Sodom and Gomorrah’, a suburb of Accra, she caught
the eye of many and won the heart of Miss World delegation last year at the
Miss World pageant.
Being a historic and a once in a life time
occurrence, the launch of the project will be witnessed by the bearer of the
Miss World crown will be accompanied by a high powered delegations including owner
of Miss World organization, Mrs. Julia Morley, a host of other world queens and
Grandson of Nelson Mandela are scheduled to arrive in Ghana on 19th
May 2012.
Stephanie has set up Lumos International Foundation
For Empowerment- (LIFE), with a prime purpose of running the Beauty With a Purpose
project which is to first construct a standard day care and nursery school to
serve deprived children of petty trading mothers in the ‘Sodom and Gomorrah’
area.
LIFE also intends to aid in granting little
children quality education and help development of talents as well as assisting
in the achievement of United Nations 2015 Millennium Development Goals to
eradicate hunger, promote primary education and gender equality in the
classroom.
Following the grand Launch of the project and
charity ball, Stephanie Karikari will host some dignified African beauty queens
and celebrities at a special Celebrity Endorsement Cocktail event.
The Celebrity Endorsement Cocktail is to
formally acknowledge important figures who have pledged to donations and to
support most activities of the foundation especially in areas of mentorship
seminars for little children and presence at special occasions.
