David Cameron
Anti-corruption campaigner and NPP Member of Parliament for Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa in the Central Region, Hon Paul Collins Appiah-Ofori has launched a rather vile verbal attack on the personality of the UK Prime Minister, David Cameron, describing him as a “fool” for threatening to withdraw UK’s aid to governments that did not reform legislation banning homosexuality.
“Can’t you see the guy is a fool? Can’t you just see he is a fool? When God created this world, what directives did he give to mankind? He told us to go and multiply and he meant we should be producing off-springs. Can a man who has sex with the same gender or a female who does likewise, produce babies? So if you are a Prime Minister and you want this disgusting thing to go on, go tell it to your own people but not to Africans,” he remarked.
To him, no one in his right frame of mind will heed to David Cameron’s infamous call, adding that it was “stupidity on his part” to have made the threat.
“This is disgusting and no sane person under the sun would tolerate it…it is stupidity on his part,” he stated.
The UK Prime Minister, in a recent interview with BBC’s Julian Marshal, threatened to cut aid to anti-gay countries, stressing that nations receiving UK aid should "adhere to proper human rights."
He is said to have raised the issue with some of the states involved at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Perth, Australia.
But speaking in an interview with Adom FM, the outspoken NPP MP sought to find out where and how the country’s next generation could be bred should Ghana or any other Africa country go by the wishes of the UK.
“No sane government in Ghana or Africa will pass a law entertaining the rights of gays… I am not aware if this government has put in place laws which allows same sex marriage and this what the British Prime Minister wants for Africa to practice. Let me be frank, for him to propose this clearly shows he is a fool and doesn’t have any sense."
"Scientifically, it is the male sperm that fertilizes the female eggs to produce babies…so a female egg can never fertilize another female’s egg to produce children. Assuming we were practicing it and we died one day, where is our next generation going to come from? He is “aboa” (fool) for proposing this and we are not prepared to entertain it in Africa,” he warned.
