Gifty Osei Installed As A Queen
![]() |
| Gifty Osei |
This time around, the Fefeefe hit-maker will be installed as a queen-mother (or ambassador) of development by the chiefs and people of the Senya Beraku in the Central Region.
Her installation, slated for Sunday, August 26, will be performed by Nenyi Kwaw Bentum IV, the Tufuhen of the Senya Beraku Traditional Area (SBTA), during the celebration of this year’s Akomase festival from August 24 to 28.
Gifty Osei, who broke the news to Spectator Agoro on Monday, expressed her profound joy and appreciation over development, assuring that she would use her new position to engineer and spearhead more development projects for the area.
She also disclosed that as part of her installation, the traditional council has allotted 10 plots of land to her, which she intends to use to build a school and a filling station at Senya Beraku in the immediate future.
Gifty announced that her installation would be climaxed with a musical concert, dubbed Gospel Music Explosion @ Senya Beraku, where a host of gospel artistes in the country would perform, such as Cecilia Marfor, Supt. Kofi Sarpong, Mary Ghansah, Opiesie Esther and Grace Ashy, among others.
Touching on the reasons for her installation, Gifty Osei explained: “I hail from Senya Beraku and I’ve never turned back on the town since I hit the music limelight. I’ve used my work to, as consciously as possible, project the town wherever I go, especially through my songs and most of my music videos which I shot there.
“Additionally, I recently raised funds to support the victims of the recent Senya Beraku accident in which 27 people died and another 27 sustained grave injuries. So, I think, all those could be contributory factors,” she noted, as she discounted suggestions that she hails from royalty.
We, of the Spectator Agoro, congratulate Gifty ‘Fefeefe’ Osei on the honour done her and wish, just as she has already assured, use her new position to champion the objectives for which she has been honoured.

Ghana National Anthem
God Bless our homeland Ghana,
And make our nation great and strong,
Bold to defend for ever the cause of Freedom and of Right.
Fill our hearts with true humility
Make us cherish fearless honesty,
And help us to resist oppressor's rule
With all our will and might for evermore.
Hail to they name, O Ghana.
To thee we make our solemn vow;
Steadfast to build together
A nation stong in Unity;
With our gifts of mind and strength of arm,
Whether night or day, in mist or storm,
In every need whate'er the call may be,
To serve thee, Ghana, now and evermore.
Raise high the flag of Ghana,
And one with Africa advance;
Black Star of hope and honour,
To all who thirst for liberty;
Where the naner of Ghana freely flies,
May the way to freedom truly lie
Arise, arise, O sons of Ghanaland.
And under God march on for evermore.
And make our nation great and strong,
Bold to defend for ever the cause of Freedom and of Right.
Fill our hearts with true humility
Make us cherish fearless honesty,
And help us to resist oppressor's rule
With all our will and might for evermore.

Chemphe On Peace & Anti Poverty Campaign
![]() |
| Chemphe |
The project, dubbed Double P Project, started months ago and is expected to continue through next year.
For Chemphe, the project only further deepened his quest to fight for good social causes and encourage good social values.
The Double P Project involves finding different solutions to fighting poverty and also promote peace, ahead of Ghana’s 2012 general elections.
Chempe and his team will hence be embarking on a sensitization programme in some Ghanaian communities.
They will use the platform to educate indigenes on ideas and how they could maximize their limited resources to enhance their lives and living standards while they also preach peace.
Last week Saturday, the project was launched at the Casamora Hotel in East Legon in Accra alongside the release of the singer’s latest album titled, ‘New Day’ from the stables of E-Jam Records.
CEO of E-Jams Records, James Korsah Brown, told journalists at the launching that, “six months ago, even before the official launching of this project; we started working.
We did a sensitization programme at Tema Newtown where most of the indigenes there are into fishing job.
We educated fish mongers on how to use their limited resources to enrich themselves.
We gave them strategic advice on how they can manage and improve resources and incomes.
Also, a month ago, we went to a village at Saltpond to do same.
We believe that fighting poverty is not just about giving people money but giving them good ideas and career guidance.
We will also be embarking on donation programmes subsequently.”
The launching ceremony was used to screen videos of Chemphe’s programme outside of Ghana.
Born Henry Randy Agyekum, Chemphe promised the media at the ceremony that he was going to continue to churn out songs with lyrics that projected good social values.
Indeed, over the years, he has proven that. His first hit single ‘Why You Dey Treat Am Bad’, was a campaign song against domestic violence.
He subsequently became a peace ambassador for a World Bank initiative.
However, he said it saddened his heart that issues of war and famine still prevailed in Africa; hence he would not stop preaching peace and the need to fight poverty via conscientising the minds of Africans with good ideas to develop.
“My next sensitization project will be held in Saltpond on August 25 and Jakiti in the Eastern Region on November 29 this year,” he disclosed.

I’m In The Studio Recording – Okra
Rapper, Okra ‘Tom Dawidi’ is set to hit the music scene with another hit as he has been known of doing.
In an exclusive interview, the ace rapper said that he is in the studio recording and the song is yet to be in the final production stage.
Though the ace hiplife act refused to let known the title of the new single, but could not hesitate in ‘spitting’ some lines on the song and without doubt, it was superb.
Okra was signed to the MadTime Records label which is owned by his longtime rapper-friend, Kwaw Kese.
Kaakie Turns Muslim
| Kaakie |
The title
of the song – “Zuuchia” – coined from a Hausa word meaning “My Heart” is
purposely ‘cooked’ by the female singjay in order to ‘familiarize’ more with
her audience who are from the Islamic community. It is a carefully synced joint
on a very danceable rhythm which would be classified as Dancehall.
It is no
doubt that Kaakie’s music indeed has covered every place in Ghana and even
beyond the borders of Ghana. Kaakie’s songs are fast-spreading and having
routine airplay in notable countries like England, USA, Australia, Italy,
Spain, France, Norway, Germany, Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, Gambia, Uganda, Tanzania,
Senegal among others.
“I have
come a very long way within just a year; and I have realized that my fan base
keeps growing by the day. Although I knew I would come out large, the fast pace
at which everything is going now really prompts me to give in more than before.
It meant a lot of hardwork and doing songs that would fall in the interest of
the larger community (even though I know it is sometimes difficult). Lately, I
found out that my fan base within the Muslim community has grown so big. After
monitoring my facebook and twitter fanpages for some time now; and even at
shows where I perform, I have realized how enthusiastic folks from the Muslim
side have come to love and appreciate my style of music. Hence, I decided to do
a joint basically for them in Hausa language, especially in this season of
Ramadan. Many would question why a ‘Christian girl’ would do a dancehall track
for the ‘Muslim folk’ but in my line of thought, doing something this way would
really bind us all as one people and strengthen the coexistence among us. It’s
a danceable song, just like my previous hits which are still banging
everywhere. This does not mean that every part of the song was strictly sang in
Hausa. I have some parts of the song sang in English, Twi, Ga and a splash of
Patois in it like I do it always – so it can still cross the borders of Ghana –
Europeans, Americans and even fellow colleagues from the Caribbean can play
“Zuuchia” and still understand the words in it and groove along with on the
dance floor. I am very hopeful everyone would like. I know for sure it’s gonna
be everyone’s phone ringtone hahaha.” – Kaakie corroborated
By
Wednesday, August 15, this new joint from ‘Queen Diva’ is sure to start rocking
the airwaves across the globe. “Zuuchia” is produced by JMJ Baby (Executive
Producer/Resident Sound Engineer of XTRA LARGE MUSIC).
Kaakie already has 5 released songs previously
(“Ewoo”, “Too Much”, “Toffee Pon Tongue”, “D.C Tun Up”, and “Top Gyal Time”).
With “Zuuchia” adding to the previous tally makes it 6 songs.
Kaakie’s debut
album launch is set for release in December 2012, under XTRA LARGE MUSIC.

Funny Face Bounced At Atta Mills’ Funeral
![]() |
| Agya Koo & Funny Face |
Reigning Ghanaian Comedian Funny Face was spotted at the State House this morning to pay his last respect to the late President Atta Mills whose mortal remains was laid in state inside the banquet hall of the state house.
However, according to Peacefmonline.com sources Funny Face was stopped from seeing the body of the late president by security officers because he didn’t have the required accreditation at the time he reached the venue. He was given an option to wait until when the banquet hall will be opened for the general public.
According to Funny Face, he wanted to go inside at the time the dignitaries i.e. Statemen, Parliamentarians, Ministers, Senior citizens, celebrities among others were allowed to see the late President’s body. “They stopped me from seeing the body of my President I don’t understand why they did that”.
Funny said their reason for not allowing him to pay his last respect was because he didn’t have the right accreditation. He further disclosed that one of the officers told him (Funny Face) that the real reason for his refusal was because his fans at the venue mobbed him and they wanted to follow him into the auditorium with too much noise which is not allowed.
The “Chorkor Trotro” actor added that the officers claim anybody who saw his face starts laughing and that time was a wrong time for laughter so he was deliberately stopped from entering to prevent him from making family members and friends present who were mourning to start laughing on seeing his funny face.
“Is it my fault that people see me and they start laughing? How can they stop me because of somebody’s laugher when I have a very serious face and I am in a mourning mood to say final good bye to our President what is the meaning of that?, furious Funny Face asked.
The comedian dressed in a black suit and red shirt, eventually left the State House without seeing the body of late President John Evans Atta Mills.
Meanwhile his colleague Comedian and Actor Kofi Adu aka Agya Koo was allowed to enter to pay his last respect around the same time even though he also made people around laugh and had a lot of his fans following him and making noise.
Agya Koo said some of the security officers tried stopping him initially but he was allowed to enter by Ashanti regional Police Commander. “I was with Funny Face but I didn’t see where he passed. I hear he was not allowed to enter but I entered with Akosua Agyapong”, Agya Koo said.

After the five (5) years contract that 5five had with Bullhaus, under which they were able to produce songs like African Girlz and many more few, these boys Killy, Gyino and Pappi refused to sign additional contract with the Label and decided to be independent on their own for a while in order to organize themselves well….
After the split with Bullhaus entertainment for eight months, A lot of rumors came up concerning one of the best music groups in Ghana 5five on how their names are going to get lost in the showbiz. They proved to the world that music can be made on any platform regardless the push that one is going to give them… They were still able to produce songs on their own such as Gargantuan Body and Just Stop and these two songs are really making waves in the cities and towns in Ghana and overseas………
It has now been reported to us that Bullhaus and Five5 are now back together as a team and working simultaneously and this puts a lot of fears on other musicians because 5five and Bullhaus are a perfect music team in the history of Ghana.
