Asem Releases Tribute Song For Late Prez. Mills

Asem has once again showcased his lyrical and song writing abilities. After the untimely death of President of Ghana H.E Prof J.E.A Mills, it was expected that the creative industry will pay tribute to his life and legacy.

One who has lead the chart in being creative in the form of a tribute song is the BYE BYE hit maker ASEM.

Asem talked about the song which he's titled “DEAR JOHN” ( Damirifa Due) which he featured Ace highlife legend PAT THOMAS.

ASEM added he wrote the song in celebration of the late presidents life and good deeds and its more of a cheer song rather than a dirge. He said his choice in collaborating with PAT THOMAS was to help the song break generational barriers.

I’m Handsome; not Ugly - Lil Wayne[Liwin]

Kojo Nkansah
Actor, Kojo Nkansah, popularly known as Liwin[Gammiieee] says he is not bothered by public comments that say he is probably the ugliest actor in Ghana. “Anybody who complains that I’m not handsome enough for movies doesn’t know the meaning of handsome,” he says.

According to the 24 year- old actor, he had received several comments from the public that he is ugly and he shouldn’t be used in movies since he scares people away.

“Handsomeness to me is determined by a person’s eyes. I have the sexiest eyeballs that any movie actor can have and that makes me unique. Almost on a daily basis, I get admirers, mostly ladies, who tell me that I’m handsome, so I don’t know what those people are talking about”, Liwin told Showbiz last Friday.

Know for movies like Azonto Ghost, Mogya Kronkron, Sika Kasa, Bonsam Bofo, Obaa Nti and Agye Nyame Bamu, Liwin said if he had given in to uncomplimentary comments, he wouldn’t have probably got to where he is now.

“I almost wept when a very pretty lady met me the other day and said, you are not bad so why do people keep insulting you that you ugly?’. After she left I almost wept,” Liwin said laughing.

Contrary to the early 40s age that many people give him, Liwin disclosed to Showbiz that he is only 24 years old. “I really don’t know why people think I am so old. I am just 24 years and very proud of my age. My age is something I wouldn’t tell lies about for anything,” the young man said.

Asked about his relationship with women, Liwin, who was born to Mr. Kojo Nkansah and Miss Adwoa Offei said he keeps running away from women just to focus on his career. “If I were a player or womanizer, I would probably have had close to seven children since a lot of girls want to date me but I tell them that I am engaged.”

Talking about how he came by the name Liwin, Kojo Nkansah said he and American rapper Lil Wayne look very much alike. “I say this all the time but people think I am kidding, Lil Wayne and I have the same eye balls and the same height and body size. I know I look exactly like him that is the reason I chose the name but the spelling of my name Liwin is different from his Lil Wayne.

He is of the belief that in five years’ time he would become the biggest actor in Africa and beyond.

He says he’s been in the movie industry for a long time but he thinks it’s now his time to shine.

I Cannot Join The Illuminati – Eazzy

Eazzy
Illuminati is the fastest growing organization at the moment when it comes to celebrities.

US stars like Jay-Z, Kanye West, Beyonce, Chris Brown and other pletora hip hop musicians are all alleged to be connected to this society.

As to if these people rumored to be joining this group is true or not, no one can substantiate without digging up conspiracies. Rumor also has it that Nigerian megastar D’banj has joined this group since he signed on Kanye West’s GOOD MUSIC record label.

Not long ago Ghana’s own Sarkodie went to grab his BET award, there was a video which interpreted Sarkodie’s ‘Saa Okodie No’ track which featured Obrafour as an illuminate track. The authenticity of the illuminati symbols is up to the viewer.

Mildred Eshon known in the music word as Eazzy ‘babbbe’ has proclaimed that she cannot join the illuminati for reasons best known to her. She disclosed this when she was giving her top 10 video list on mix bag on TV3 over the weekend. Her number eight went to Kanye West’s ‘Power Hour’. When asked whether she would like to be part of the Illuminati, Eazzy stated :

I Prayed For Lord Kenya And Ofori Amponsah To Repent - Papa Shee

Papa Shee
Wondering why some of Ghana’s finest circular musicians like Lord Kenya, and Ofori Amponsah are abandoning their music books for the bible instead ? Well, according to Papa Shee, arguably one of the most popular musician to have done highlife in Ghana, the reason triggering these exodus are his prayers.
Now based in Maryland, USA as a pastor, Papa Shee who was well noted for his widely circulated ‘Atadwe, and Koyonso’ tracks back in the late 90’s claims it is due to his prayers that most Ghanaian musicians are now opting for the pulpit and therefore wants legends like Daddy Lumba and Kojo Antwi to follow soon.

Speaking to VibeGhana.com in an exclusive interview, the former highlife king revealed that he got his breakthrough to become a man of God back in 2000 when he performed in front of a packed crowed who had congregated at the then Accra Sport Stadium for the opening ceremony of the African Cup of Nations.
He explained that upon realizing the huge number of people in the stadium, it dawned on him to channel his energies into the winning of souls for Christ and has never looked back since then.
The onetime African Performer Award winner in Manhattan, New York noted that he prayed for more musicians to also see the light and for now his topmost priority is to see high profile legends in the music industry like Kojo Antwi, Daddy Lumba, Obrafour, Kontehene, and Nana Kwame to also substitute the music stage with church.

To him, the time has come for these musicians who can boast of large followers to try and draw their numerous fans to God just as they get these fans glued to their music albums.
Papa Shee, whose real name is Nana Yaw Akosah prophesised that though it is not going to be an easy task, record hit makers like Kojo Antwi and Daddy Lumba, can be made more powerful by God if they turn their lives over to him.

He admitted that it is not an easy adventure to embark on considering the fame and calibre of temptations that abounds in the music industry but it is worthy.
Using himself as an example, the singer turned preacher indicated that some Ghanaian musicians find it difficult to quit the music scene due to because of the accessibility of sexy girls who are likely to throw themselves at the musicians for the sake of stardom.

He recounted the number of times he received calls from some of these desperate ladies who were willing to do anything to get in touch due to his fame but not withstanding this,Papa Shee reiterated his stance that ‘God can make Dady Lumba, Kojo Antwi and other musicians more powerful if they quit doing music’.
When asked by VibeGhana.com if these musicians can still stick to their profession and yet spread the gospel through their music?, Papa Shee answered affirmatively but indicated that ‘not when you are doing, hiplife or highlife’ since the only way to sell as a circular musician is to talk about sex and profanity.
‘’If you do hiplife or highlife and you don’t talk about this things your music don’t sell” He stressed.

Trigmatic's Religious Views Questioned... Is He An Illuminati Or Freemason?

Trigmatic
Duly accorded the accolade Africa's Most Versatile Rapper, Trigmatic who is currently recording his 3rd Studio album and rounding up his first official mixtape since his affiliation with the Blueprint District company is raising lots of eye browses with recent happenings.

A few weeks back, the rapper made headlines when he was reportedly to have called Christians hypocrites.

The headline made strong waves and raised lots of eye browses and had a few question his religious stands and belief. Even though he professes strong christian ties, latest information reaching us from sources close to the rapper indicates that the 2011 Rapper of the year might have ties with an occult group of hold alternating belief systems contrary to what he has been professing.

The rapper who is currently recording a mixtape which is set to be released later this year is set to be going haywire with some of the records hes putting on the mixtape.

Close sources indicate that some of the songs are made up of weird sounds and spiritual hymns that are untraceable to any known religious sect. We are also reliable informed that the track listing of the mixtape has titles like J.E.S.U.S and other mystifying titles.

The question then is very simple, Where does Trigmatic stand? In a related development the rapper has dropped 2 new banging singles as a prelude to his 3rd album and first official mixtape after his street mixtape "A STAIN ON A CLoth".

Nigeria’s Goldie Leaves Big Brother Stargame In Tears

After 70 days in the StarGame, Nigerian singer Goldie has been evicted from the Big Brother StarGame house after failing to beat off stiff competition from Kyle and Lady May.

Big Brother presenter IK first broke the good news to Lady May and Kyle that they had been saved by Africa, then Goldie was unfortunately told that she had become the latest eviction victim from the house.

She was called onto the stage where she appeared in an emotional state though IK tried comforting her. That means that Nigeria is officially out of the StarGame after the voluntary exit of Ola and Chris.

Meanwhile, Goldie was surprised that Keitta nominated her on Monday and she nearly broke down. She said that she always cooked for Keitta and thus never so it coming. The Nigerian singer who won the Head of House Task on Friday has unfortunately not served her term. This means that the house will be having another sheriff.

The ‘Don’t Touch My Body Singer’ definitely had a great show and thus we can only wish her all the best out there.

Movie Pirates Attack Four Ghanaian Officers

Executives of Film Distributors Association of Ghana at the conference
Information reaching GhanaSuperStars.Com has it that 4 police man who were embarking on an anti piracy call together with the film distributors and Marketers Association were rallied, razzed and severely flogged by unknown pirates around Kantamanto market in Accra Central.

Since the police were not ready to grant we at GhanaSuperStars.Com audience on the case, we got in touch with Mr. Mustapha Adams, the film Marketers and distributors President.

He revealed to GhanaSuperStars.Com that they have formed some surreptitious antipiracy amalgamation which helps them to detect where most of the films produced are pirated before they (the movies) enter the market.

Throughout this month, they realized most of the pirated films were not coming from Togo or China as perceived by many but rather, from a secluded outfit very close to James Town post office.

He added that an informant assisted them in getting hold of one Mr. Alex Nyantekyi who happens to be the main distributor for those who pirate Ghanaian films in Accra. After intense surveillance, they managed to get his corporal self in possession of some of the pirated CDs.

“After we caught him, he admitted he sells pirated CDs but rather he is not the one who pirates them so he is going to lead us to the pirates. Together with the police we moved to the secret place but to our utter dismay, his cohorts ambushed us and started beating us till the police called in backups to assist us but in the process, Alex Nyantekyi, the suspect, escaped” said Mr. Mustapha Adams.

Mr. Mustapha Adams appealed to the general public to assist in apprehending Alex Nyantekyi and also advised all pirates to eschew pirating intellectual properties in any form or kind. “In Ghana, piracy is a crime!” Mr. Mustapha Adams concluded.

Movie Producer thanks God for Ghanaian Movie Ban

While all movie makers and producers alike are making efforts to reach out to the international market, controversial movie producer and PRO of the Film Producers Association of Ghana, Socrat Safo has said that he will give praise and thanks to God if Ghanaian movies are banned in neighboring Nigeria.

Speaking on Channel R’s 205 Total Entertainment on Wednesday, Socrate explained that, Ghana is a relatively small country as compared to Nigeria which meant Nigeria had a bigger market that their Ghanaian counterpart. This he said always got in favor of movie producers Nigeria since they find Ghana as the dumping grounds for their over-flown movies.

He made this revelation when he was responding to a particular story making circulations on the internet and other social media, that Ghanaian movies have been banned in Nigeria. The reports which had the caption, “Ghanaian Movies Banned In Nigeria?” indicated that, the once harmonious relationship between the Nigerian movie industry, Nollywood and its counterpart, Ghana’s Ghallywood, is currently under threat as the movie marketers under the auspices of Film, Video Producers and Marketers Association of Nigeria (FVPMAN) had placed an embargo on Ghanaian films with effect from the end of this month.
According to the report, the decision became necessary following the position taken by their Ghanaian counterparts who had banned the distribution of Nigerian films in their country long time ago.

Reacting to this report, the Public Relation Officer of the Film Producers Association of Ghana said he was not aware of the reports but said if it was true, he would thank the almighty God for such a decision. He said the movie industry in Ghana is flooded with so many movies from Nigeria and this he explained is making the local producers loose much sales.

He continued that, if movies from Nigeria to Ghana and the ones from Ghana to Nigeria are banned, it would give the local producers the chance to market and make their movies popular here in Ghana. He revealed that, currently, Ghanaian movies do not sell because everybody wants to buy and watch something from Nigeria.

BLAY LEAK is yet to confirm whether Ghanaian movies will truly be banned in Nigeria and the benefits the two countries stand to derive from the said decision.
